PPS wins planning for Redrow

June 23rd, 2009 by Mark Kerr in Latest news and events, Property & Planning

Redrow Homes, a client of PPS, recently received outline planning permission from Kettering Borough Council for a mixed-use neighbourhood on land to the west of Barton Seagrave, near Kettering.

PPS was appointed by Redrow Homes after an initial planning application was refused at committee (despite a recommendation to approve), leading to a subsequent appeal process and a second planning application being submitted.

The appeal on the initial application was withdrawn in order to review the plans with Kettering Borough Council and allow further discussion to take place with stakeholders and the community.

The review process led to amendments being made to the plans, which addressed the reasons given for refusal, and a communications plan was implemented to feedback the revised plans to stakeholders and the community.

The PPS communications process substantially supported the planning application, highlighting the benefits to be gained from the proposals as well as how the applicants had dealt with concerns.

Kettering Borough Council’s Planning Committee voted to approve the plans, despite the presence of a vocal opposition group.
