PPS Director of Waste, Fiona MacIntosh, gave a presentation to the Associate Parliamentary Sustainable Resource Group on effective communication on waste infrastructure project at the Group meeting on 21st July 2009.
Fiona’s presentation looked at confident engagement – ‘the art of the possible’ – focusing on the need for the industry to be stronger in communicating the positive contribution waste management makes to peoples’ day to day lives. This message of positivity and the need to be proactive was extended to politicians, encouraging them to be braver when it comes to waste management facilities, particularly in their own constituencies, as although the opposition is loud it is not always widely spread.
