Well its election day at last and so there is an end in sight to the febrile water cooler conversations that have been galvanising PPS staff for the last four weeks. It is time to stock up with wine and sandwiches and watch the results roll in through the early hours.
This election is particularly interesting for all sorts of reasons. But for PPSanistas, tonight will be fun, as we have some skin in the game with staff, and former staff, standing. It is even possible that in the event of a hung Parliament the PPSanistas could form a bloc and hold the balance of power!
So I will not be able to go to bed until all their votes are in and I can see them either preparing for power… or preparing for work on Monday.
If you want to keep up with our colleagues then look out for the following results:
Darren Caplan Formerly PPS London (Con) Hackney and Stoke Newington
Thomas Docherty PPS Scotland (Lab) Dunfermline and West Fife
David Gold Formerly PPS London (Con) Eltham
Simon Hoare Formerly PPS London (Con) Cardiff South and Penarth
And keep an eye out for honorary PPSanistas – people we know well and love
Wilfred Emanuel-Jones (Con) Chippenham
Laura Sandys (Con) Thanet South
