As part of the Government’s transparency push, all departments have published their business plans for the full term of the government, 2011-2015.
Included in the details of DCLG’s Business Plan are a number of important milestones and clarification regarding legislative/regulatory intentions, including:
- the new National Planning Framework will be published by April 2012
- the Localism Bill will be published this month, and may be followed up by secondary legislation “as necessary”
- CILs will be reformed and continued
- Funding will be in place to help town and parish councils to develop neighbourhood plans by 2011
- New Energy National Policy Statements will be designated by June 2011
- Major Infrastructure Planning Unit established under the Planning Inspectorate by April 2012
- A bill will be introduced to implement TIFs by July 2011
