PPS are delighted to have obtained Planning Permission in Principle today for their client Global Offshore accommodation specialists Ferguson Modular Ltd, part of the Ferguson Group. The application approved today by the Garioch Area Committee of Aberdeenshire Council by 9 votes to 4, lays the foundation for the delivery of a mixed-use development comprising 50 homes and a 6000m² supermarket in the affluent town of Inverurie, a short drive north from Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland.
The application, which was initially submitted back in 2010, is the first phase of a larger master plan, which could see the eventual redevelopment of the Harlaw Road area including the Council Depot, the existing Ferguson Modular site and Colony Park, which will provide the creation of hundreds of new jobs and assist in the regeneration of Inverurie’s vibrant town centre.
Crucial to obtaining consent was working with all key stakeholders, particularly the local football club Colony Park FC who’s football ground was part of the planning application and the site for development.
The Ferguson Group employs 160 people worldwide through its divisions serving the offshore container rental and accommodation modules markets and is based in a new £6million HQ in Kintore (Aberdeenshire).
