PPS is pleased to announce that last week Land Securities’ received an unanimous decision from Harrow Borough Council’s Planning Committee to approve its plans to redevelop the Kodak Site in Wealdstone. The proposals for the site included around 985 homes, 380,000sq ft of employment space providing up to 2,000 new jobs, improved open space and community facilities for residents, and a new three-form entry primary school.
Since early 2010, PPS has helped Land Securities deliver an extensive programme of consultation and local engagement, which included:
• Around 70 hours of public consultation including 48 hours of public exhibitions, attended by 1,560 people, and 20 hours of themed workshops;
• Meetings with 70 local organisations; and
• a dedicated project website, www.harrowview.info, which received over 2,100 unique visitors.
Land Securities’ committment to public engagement was acknowledged by the chairman of Harrow’s Planning Committee, who welcomed the developer’s extensive programme of pre-application consultation.
The plans for the Kodak Site will now go to the GLA for final approval.
